Two ‘not to be missed’ events: February -
50/50 Swishing Event
To be held at St Andrew’s on Saturday 4th February 2012 from 10am until 4 pm.
“Let’s Swish Again, like we did last summer.”
A note on ‘swishing’ – it is the concept of exchanging clothes for other clothes. Simple. We all have quality items that fill our wardrobes and drawers and gaze reproachfully at us, when they could be swapped for something different. Try a new colour or style and revamp your wardrobe for nothing. If you have any ‘guilty pleasures’, those items still with their price tags or those worn only once or occasion outfits, then bring them along and we will place them on our 50:50 rails. You receive half the sale price and we keep half, and best of all, if it doesn’t sell, you have it returned to you, so there is nothing to lose !
Our 50:50 also includes Gardenalia, old Tools, Retro/Vintage and Kitchenalia, as well as CDs/Vinyl and Collectables; so men out there, rummage through your sheds and clear out the garage.
Best of all, entry is free and our famous Amazing Graze café is open all day.
For further details ring 01288 353570 or 353435 and make Saturday 4th February the date you don’t want to break !
National Book Day.
To be celebrated on Friday and Saturday 2nd and 3rd March 2012.
Two days at St Andrew’s -
If you share our passion for books, come along where you can meet local writers, including a poet, browse our Antiquarian and Collectable stand and buy quality volumes from our themed displays. Whether you collect modern or classic crime, dream of travel, admire contemporary fiction, hunger for cook books or have an interest in First Editions, there will be a book for you.
There will also be a chance to explore your family history and view an exhibition which includes a page from a 14th century Bible!
This collaboration with National Book Day will also celebrate Olympic and Royal Jubilee year, with features on Stratton’s role in previous such events.
The venue: St Andrew’s church between the hours of 10am and 4pm, entry is free, so simply turn up for the books!
